How to Rock a Suit and Stay Cool
"It really comes down to how serious you are about your image..."
Summer is here, but that doesn’t mean suit season is over! This summer’s latest suit trends are printed with geometric patterns, pastel color pallets, slim seersuckers, and of course, the classic look. There’s something different to satisfy everyone’s style. Remember, it's all about wearing lighter fabric, so seasonal shopping is a must gentlemen.
One of my favorite Summer suits is Suitsupply’s Havana which is tailored slim and completely unlined. This adaptable 2-buttonfit features a natural shoulder, patch pockets and is cut from a breathable and light weight blend of silk and mohair by Barbera. This suit is an excellent choice for events that take place on beaches or in warm climates, such as weddings, outdoor functions and parties.
This suit is most famous for it’s lightweight and durable material. This Traveller fabric is made by Reda from 3-ply high twist yarn, which results in a lightweight fabric that superbly resists wrinkling.
The linen slim line is perfect for travelling because it doesn’t require too much maintence. There are two ways of styling this suit; dress it down or dress it dandy.
Rock the right shoes:
Now, lets talk about shoes. Loafers are perfect. I mean, who wants to tie shoelaces in the summertime anyway?!
The latest trend for this summer is all about loafers, loafers, loafers. Tassels, pennies or drivers, I LOVE THEM ALL! The best thing about loafers is that they not only look great, but also keep your feet cool during the heat. Let’s not forget to wear a pair of no-show socks to feel more comfortable.
Protect the windows to your soul.
I'm talking Eyewear//
A great way to stay Cool would be a fun accessory like tortoise shell and bone colored sunglasses.
Our friends at WarbyParker make a great shade and their at home trial is very convenient. Visit their site, choose 3 or 4 frames and they'll send you them in a kit to try on at home. Send back the ones you don't want or keep them all. You have to give it a shot!
"It's so hot, how are you wearing a suit?"
The answer is really simple: I want to look my best. But it's also complicated because it depends how I'm feeling that day. How much effort do I want to put into my style today. Then I remember everyday is an opportunity to make a Great 1st impression and I don't want to mess any of those up.
So the answer is, I want to look my best ALWAYS!
Let's talk about Effort Levels//
Maximum: Means Prepping my #OOTD by having my clothes dry cleaned and ready to wear. Men save your time and support your local cleaner and tailor. They'll thank you by making your garments look fresh.
Minimum: Sorry, this is Not an Option.
Let's Talk about Pairing//
Pairing comes from the soul. You really can't teach someone how to pair a winning combination of colors. It has to be individual for each person. It's like telling someone what ice cream to choose. These are major life decisions here. It only takes me a good 20 minutes to decide between Rocky Road, Pistachio and Dulce De Leche.
It's not so bad.
One thing to remember is a suit can be deconstructed and worn in a number of different ways. It's always better to wear a suit jacket and take it off, then not have one at all. You can always take a suit jacket off if you can't bare the heat.
"I think like this, Clark Kent has to walk around wearing his cape all day long, just in case he needs to change into Superman."
"We are pioneers at everything we do, and we work hard to keep it that way. Our pioneering spirit generates a contagious energy, which is what enables us to keep putting new ideas into practice.
Our strength lies in our formula: straight, to the point and still personal. Fast and effective. Combining craftsmanship with flair.
There are few things that distract us. This approach enables us to create an environment in which our customers feel that we only have eyes for them. We are there for people who want to be seen."
